Job Summary

Our client is seeking proactive and well-rounded HR Generalist to support our growing client base. This is not a traditional in-house HR role—this position operates as part of our outsourced HR team, supporting multiple organizations across a range of industries.

The role is heavily focused on day-to-day HR support, while also assisting with payroll processing and benefits administration. You will serve as a key point of contact for assigned clients, helping them navigate employee issues, compliance requirements, and administrative HR functions.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-driven environment, can shift between priorities, and has experience using HRIS platforms to execute HR, payroll, and benefits-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities

HR Support & Employee Relations

  • Serve as a primary HR contact for assigned clients, providing guidance on employee relations, policy interpretation, and workplace issues
  • Support disciplinary actions, performance management, and workplace investigations while ensuring compliance with applicable laws
  • Assist clients with onboarding, terminations, and general HR administration

Benefits Administration

  • Manage employee benefit enrollments, changes, and ongoing inquiries
  • Coordinate with carriers and internal teams to ensure accurate deductions and eligibility
  • Support ACA compliance, COBRA administration, and leave management processes (FMLA, disability, etc.)
  • Utilize platforms such as Employee Navigator and carrier portals to maintain accurate records

Payroll Support

  • Assist with payroll processing across multiple clients and pay cycles
  • Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and respond to client questions
  • Support new client implementations, including data setup, imports, and system training
  • Work within platforms such as ADP, Paychex, or similar systems

HRIS & Systems Utilization

  • Use HRIS platforms to manage employee data, reporting, onboarding workflows, and benefits administration
  • Ensure data accuracy across systems and support process improvements
  • Assist clients in navigating and utilizing their HR/payroll systems effectively

Client Support & Relationship Management

  • Build strong working relationships with clients and serve as a reliable day-to-day resource
  • Participate in client meetings, both virtual and on-site, to provide HR support and training
  • Travel locally as needed to support client needs

What Success Looks Like

  • Clients view you as their “go-to” HR resource
  • Issues are handled proactively—not reactively
  • Payroll and benefits processes run smoothly with minimal errors
  • You can comfortably move between multiple clients and priorities without losing detail

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR support, or similar role
  • Experience supporting multiple business functions (HR, payroll, benefits)
  • Experience supporting multiple clients or locations preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (ADP, Paylocity, Paychex, Employee Navigator, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business owners and leadership teams

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Ability to travel locally to client sites as needed
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to occasionally support client needs outside standard business hours
  • Prolonged periods of computer work

Why This Role is Different

  • Exposure to multiple industries and business environments
  • Opportunity to develop deeper expertise across HR, payroll, and benefits—not just one area
  • Be part of a team that acts as a true extension of our clients’ businesses
