HRIS Data & Systems Consultant

National Healthcare organization headquartered in Charlotte is seeking a highly analytical and execution-focused HRIS Data & Systems Consultant to support targeted, project-based efforts across our HR technology landscape. This role is designed for a contractor who can independently assess issues, define scope and effort, execute solutions, and deliver clean, documented outcomes without ongoing operational ownership.
The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, works quickly, and brings structure to complex system and data challenges. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors is required



This is a 6+ month contract role with a pay rate of $40-60/hr. This position is based in Charlotte NC and is an onsite position

How This Role Operates
  • Work is assigned as discrete problem statements or initiatives.
  • Contractor is expected to:
    • Assess the problem
    • Define scope, approach, and estimated effort
    • Execute independently
    • Deliver output + documentation
  • Once complete, the contractor transitions to the next priority
    This is not a ticket-based or day-to-day support role

Key Responsibilities

Problem Scoping & Solution Design
  • Evaluate ambiguous HRIS/data issues and translate into structured work plans
  • Define level of effort, dependencies, and risks
  • Recommend optimal approach before execution
Data Analysis & System Audits (Primary Focus)
  • Perform deep analysis across SuccessFactors and downstream systems
  • Build and execute data audits, reconciliations, and validation frameworks
  • Identify root causes of data inconsistencies and systemic issues

Execution & Delivery
  • Independently execute solutions with minimal oversight
    Deliver:
    • Clean datasets
    • Audit outputs
    • Root cause summaries
    • Recommended fixes
  • Ensure solutions are scalable not one-off fixes

Process & System Optimization
  • Identify gaps in processes (e.g., position management, transfers, integrations)
  • Recommend and implement improvements
  • Standardize outputs for reuse by internal team

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
  • Provide clear, structured documentation of:
    • Problem
    • Approach
    • Solution
    • Ongoing considerations
  • Enable internal team to sustain outcomes post-engagement
Required Qualifications
  • 5 10+ years in HRIS / HR Technology / HR Data roles
  • Strong hands-on experience with SuccessFactors (Employee Central required)
  • Advanced Excel expertise (non-negotiable)
    • Pivot tables, complex formulas
    • Data reconciliation
    • Strongly preferred: Power Query
  • Proven experience working with large, complex datasets across systems
  • Ability to scope work independently and estimate effort accurately
  • Strong root cause analysis skills (not just surface-level fixes)
Preferred
  • Experience with Payroll (SAP ECP, ADP) and/or Workforce Management
  • Experience working in post-implementation stabilization environments
  • Experience building audit tools or data validation frameworks
