Position Overview
Are you an HR professional who enjoys working at the intersection of people, technology, and payroll? We are seeking an experienced HRIS & Payroll Analyst to join our team in Greensboro, NC.
This is a key role for an HR professional who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining accurate employee data and delivering a seamless payroll and HRIS experience. The HRIS & Payroll Analyst will own the day-to-day administration of Paycom, oversee bi-weekly payroll processing, maintain the integrity of employee records, generate HR and payroll reporting, and help optimize HR technology and processes.
As the Paycom subject matter expert, you will partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, managers, and employees to ensure accurate data, efficient workflows, timely payroll, and an exceptional employee experience.
What You'll Do
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
- Review, audit, and validate payroll data before each payroll submission.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, including pay, deductions, timekeeping, and employee data issues.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll documentation and records.
- Support internal and external payroll audits and provide documentation as needed.
- Partner with HR and Finance to resolve payroll-related issues and improve processes.
HRIS Administration & Data Management
- Serve as the primary Paycom administrator and subject matter expert.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee information throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
- Process HRIS transactions including:
- New hires
- Promotions
- Compensation changes
- Transfers
- Position and organizational changes
- Terminations
- Other employment status changes
- Conduct regular audits to identify and correct data discrepancies.
- Monitor system workflows and ensure transactions are completed accurately and timely.
- Troubleshoot HRIS issues and coordinate with Paycom support when additional assistance is required.
Employee Onboarding & HR Administration
- Enter and verify new hire information in Paycom.
- Monitor onboarding workflows and ensure required documentation is completed.
- Maintain accurate employee records from onboarding through separation.
- Assist employees and managers with Paycom self-service, workflows, and HR-related questions.
- Help ensure a smooth and efficient employee onboarding experience.
HR Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and distribute weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual HR and payroll reports.
- Create ad hoc reports and workforce analytics for management.
- Analyze HRIS and payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain reporting accuracy and data integrity.
- Use Excel and HRIS reporting tools to organize, analyze, and present information effectively.
HRIS Optimization & Process Improvement
- Lead or support the testing and implementation of Paycom upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and new modules.
- Evaluate existing HRIS and payroll processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and maintain HRIS procedures, process documentation, and training materials.
- Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders on HR technology initiatives.
- Help maximize the functionality and effectiveness of Paycom.
- Serve as a resource and internal expert on HRIS processes and best practices.
Employee Support
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers regarding payroll, HRIS, timekeeping, benefits, and HR-related questions.
- Provide timely, professional, and solutions-oriented support.
- Help employees navigate Paycom and complete required HR workflows.
- Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
What We're Looking For
Required / Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 1–3+ years of hands-on HRIS and payroll experience.
- Experience processing bi-weekly payroll required.
- Paycom experience strongly preferred.
- Multi-state payroll experience is a plus.
- Experience maintaining employee records and HRIS data throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Experience with HRIS reporting, data audits, and system troubleshooting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
