Woodstock Community Unit School District 200, serving a diverse student population of approximately 6,700, is located in northwestern Chicagoland. District 200 is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Principal of Woodstock High School for the 2026-2027 school year.

An IL Principal license is required and administrative experience is preferred but not required. This is a 12-month position, with a starting salary range of $110,000 - $130,000. The benefits for this position include health insurance, dental insurance, term life insurance, vision insurance, and paid time off.

TITLE: Assistant Principal - High School

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A master''s degree and State of IL administrative license.

  2. At least five years successful experience in public education, part of

which shall have been as a classroom teacher.

  1. Supervisory or administrative experience preferred.

  2. Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred.

  3. References must be provided.

REPORTS TO: High School Principal

JOB GOAL: To assist the principal in providing school-wide leadership in attaining the

mission, goals and objectives of the school and the district.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists the principal in the overall operation of the school.

  2. Assists the principal in the evaluation of staff.

  3. Assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive educational program to

promote student learning.

  1. Promotes a positive climate throughout the school by demonstrating a commitment to

students, staff, parents and the educational program.

  1. Provides leadership in teaching techniques, innovation, and class organization.

  2. Serves as a member of the PLC process and provides support and direction to the success of

this effort.

  1. Acts on behalf of the principal in his/her absence.

  2. Prepares reports as the principal may request.

  3. Prepares drafts of needed rules or guidelines for review by the principal.

  4. Reports on the status of school programs and activities as requested by the principal.

  5. Communicates to the principal the requirements and needs of the school as perceived by

staff members.

  1. Assists the principal in implementing emergency procedures.

  2. Promotes staff morale.

  3. Provides for his/her professional growth.

  4. Supervises student discipline and attendance policies and procedures.

  5. Supervises after school and weekend events such as athletic contests, dances, and club

activities.

  1. Proposes schedule of classes.

  2. Supervises the preparation of student schedules.

  3. Assists department heads and faculty groups in compiling the annual budget requests.

  4. Requisitions supplies and equipment, conducts inventories, maintains records and checks

on receipts of such material.

  1. Serves with parent, faculty and student groups as requested in advancing educational and

related activities and objectives.

  1. Performs such other duties and assures such other responsibilities as the principal may from

time-to-time assign.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve month work year with salary and conditions established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance will be evaluated annually by the building principal.
