    Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy (CCPA) is a public charter school dedicated to empowering students through academic rigor, character development, and college readiness. CCPA prepares students for lifelong learning, civic responsibility, and post-secondary success.

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an energetic, mission-driven educator to serve as our High School College & Career Readiness / Student Success Teacher.

    This role anchors two critical stages in high school development: establishing foundational academic and civic habits in freshmen, and guiding seniors through the transition into post-secondary life.

    The teaching load consists of 5 total daily sections:

    • 2 Sections of 9th Grade Foundations: Coaching freshmen in executive functioning, citizenship, character development, and critical thinking.
    • 3 Sections of 12th Grade Senior Seminar: Guiding seniors through college research, career exploration, scholarship discovery, and application completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    9th Grade Sections: Academic Foundations & Citizenship (2 Sections)

    • Academic Coaching: Teach essential student success skills, including time management, organization, effective note-taking, test prep, and self-advocacy.
    • Citizenship & Character: Foster civic responsibility, digital literacy, conflict resolution, and peer leadership to help freshmen build a positive school community.
    • Critical Thinking: Design inquiry-based lessons, structured debates, and analytical projects that encourage students to evaluate information, challenge assumptions, and form reasoned arguments.

    12th Grade Sections: Post-Secondary Launch Pad (3 Sections)

    • College & Career Exploration: Guide seniors through identifying career pathways, vocational programs, military opportunities, and 2-year or 4-year degree programs aligned with their strengths and interests.
    • Application Mentorship: Provide hands-on coaching as students complete college applications (Common App, direct admissions) or professional job applications.
    • Financial Literacy & Scholarships: Lead workshops on understanding financial aid, completing FAFSA steps, and finding and applying for local and national scholarships.
    • Professional Readiness: Help seniors construct professional resumes, write cover letters, practice interview techniques, and build a post-secondary transition portfolio.

    General Educator Duties

    • Maintain high behavioral and academic standards in a culturally responsive, structured classroom.
    • Use student data to track progress and adjust instruction to support diverse learning styles.
    • Maintain active, positive communication with families regarding student growth, academic progress, and post-secondary milestones.
    • Collaborate with grade-level teams, school counselors, and administration.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor''s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field (Master''s degree preferred).
    • Licensure: Valid Ohio Educator License (or active pathway toward Ohio Resident Educator status).
    • Clearances: Must pass Ohio BCI and FBI background checks.
    • Key Skills:
    • Strong relational coaching abilitiesable to motivate young adult learners with empathy and high expectations.
    • Knowledge of post-secondary planning tools, college application processes, and local financial aid opportunities.
    • Exceptional organizational, communication, and classroom management skills.
