A High School Head Boys Tennis Coach leads the tennis program by developing player skills, creating daily practice plans, managing match lineups/strategies, and fostering sportsmanship. Responsibilities include overseeing equipment, coordinating schedules with the Athletic Director, ensuring student safety, and monitoring academic eligibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership & Training: Develop and implement daily practice plans, conditioning, and skill development for varsity (and often JV) teams.
• Match Management: Determine lineups, manage match strategies, and supervise players during home and away competitions.
• Administration & Compliance: Maintain inventory of equipment/uniforms, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with district, state, and USTA
• Communication :Coordinate with the Athletic Director regarding transportation and schedules, and maintain regular communication with parents.
• Mentorship: Promote academic success, character development, and safe play.

Qualifications

• Previous tennis coaching experience (often required or preferred).
• Knowledge of tennis techniques and strategies.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification and Iowa Coaching License/Authorization

• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to student-athlete safety and development
