HS Health and Wellness Substitute Teacher

Job Description:

The Wakefield Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered, substitute Health and Wellness teacher at WMHS from November 9 through December 23 (approximate dates). Candidates will be responsible for teaching multiple grade levels of Health and Wellness.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor''s degree required (in Physical Education or Health Sciences preferred)
• Related state certification for job assignment and prior job experience is preferred

Description of Duties:

• Teach Health and Wellness courses, utilizing curricula adopted by the department and School Committee and implement appropriate activities to support student wellness.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive learning environment.
• Create a differentiated environment that supports the learning styles and emotional needs of all students.
• Communicate with parents, administration, and students regarding content, expectations, and student progress.
• Attend to all teacher duties and professional development, including PLCs, department meetings, and school/district professional development.
