Duties
- Develop and implement detailed lesson plans for High School Science Classes that align with school curriculum standards and state requirements. Classes may include Physics, Environmental Science, Biology, and/or General Science.
- Foster an engaging, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages curiosity and scientific inquiry.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, and class participation.
- Provide timely feedback and communication with students, parents, and school administration.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of student progress and attendance.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and enhance overall instructional quality.
- Stay current with advancements in scientific knowledge and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school events as required.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific literacy among students.
- Ensure proper care and management of laboratory materials, equipment, and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Science Education
- Valid PEL with HS Endorsement in Secondary Science
