HS Science Teacher 2026-2027 school year

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education
  • Possess a valid Secondary Michigan Certification as a Science teacher and prefer additional endorsements in Math from the State of Michigan. Must be High Qualified (per NCLB) to teach 6-12 Science and Prefer additional qualification of 6-12 Math
  • Endorsement combinations needed DA and DH, DX and/or DI.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Must follow district and state curricula and assessment requirements.
  • Knowledge of Michigan Next Generation Science Standards
  • Builds and maintains a positive relationship with students, families, and caregivers.
  • Knowledge and ability to effectively apply best practice for teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with grade level/department/interdisciplinary teams, etc.
  • Knowledge of and ability to regularly integrate the writing process and expository writing to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use effective formative and summative assessment to drive instructional practice and measure student proficiency.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool to enhance teaching/learning.
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement on a regular basis cooperative learning strategies and flexible grouping strategies.
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement on a regular basis higher order thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to develop an interdisciplinary approach to delivering instructional outcomes.
  • Follow and implement all Board of Education policies, administrative guidelines, and building regulations.
