Duties

  • Develop and implement detailed lesson plans for High School Social Science Classes that align with school curriculum standards and state requirements. Classes may include US History, Sociology, Psychology, and/or Contemporary Issues.
  • Foster an engaging, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages curiosity and inquiry.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, and class participation.
  • Provide timely feedback and communication with students, parents, and school administration.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of student progress and attendance.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and enhance overall instructional quality.
  • Stay current with advancements in knowledge and teaching methodologies.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and school events as required.
  • Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and scientific literacy among students.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Science Education
  • Valid PEL with HS Endorsement in Secondary Social Science Education
