The Pecatonica Area School District is a rural district in southwest Wisconsin, serving the communities of Blanchardville and Hollandale. Pecatonica High School, located approximately 40 miles southwest of Madison, serves just over 100 students. We are seeking a highly motivated, student-centered full-time Social Studies teacher beginning in the 2026-27 school year. The ideal candidate brings energy to the classroom, values relationships, and is committed to helping students grow as thoughtful learners and engaged citizens.
Position Overview:
This position is primarily Social Studies-focused, with flexibility based on candidate strengths and licensure. Courses may include World History, U.S. History, Civics, and Social Studies electives. There may also be opportunities to contribute to additional content areas, AP courses, extracurriculars, or student activities.
Preferred Licensure:
Broad Field Social Studies (#1701) and/or History (#1705)
Advanced Placement Social Studies experience preferred
Qualifications:
Valid Wisconsin DPI certification (or ability to obtain)
Strong understanding of effective instructional practices
Ability to design and deliver instruction that meets diverse learner needs
Willingness to collaborate as part of a team-oriented staff
Experience integrating literacy, inquiry, and critical thinking into Social Studies instruction (preferred)
