Position Overview: The HSE Coordinator is responsible for supporting Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs across multiple operations, with a focus on promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role provides direct support to operations through regularly scheduled site visits and as-needed emergency responses.

Responsibilities
  • Support operational leadership in achieving safety goals and promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Coordinate closely with corporate Risk and HSE teams to align regional activities with company-wide safety initiatives.
  • Plan and implement safety awareness and incident prevention campaigns.
  • Conduct safe behavior observations and site inspections across the region.
  • Perform frequent scheduled and emergency visits to sites to ensure compliance, support incident investigations, conduct audits, and assist the driver team on site.
  • Deliver training and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial HSE regulations, including the transportation of dangerous goods.
  • Conduct new driver competency evaluations and driver delivery audits.
  • Actively participate in Emergency Response planning and activities, including being a member of the Emergency Response Team and participating in after-hours on-call coverage.
  • Provide local HSE support and travel outside the province when necessary to support company operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the transportation industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Health and Safety role.
  • Experience with dangerous goods product handling and delivery is an asset.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required.
  • Prior experience in an on-call work environment considered an asset.
  • Skilled in delivering training and conducting competency assessments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
