HSE Representative - Night Shift

Summary

Reporting to the Manager, HSE, the HSE Representative (Night Shift) is responsible for advising, assisting, leading and coaching management and employees with direction and implementation of the companys Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and policies. The HSE Representative develops, implements, and sustains HSE Policies, Procedures & Programs to drive incidents and injuries to "zero". With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward ensuring compliance with the companys policies & procedures and with local, state and federal regulations.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties

• Ability to work in an industrial workshop environment
• Ability to coach and correct employee safety behaviors/actions
• Coordinate safety audits and meetings (monthly shop/facility inspection audits, fall protection audits, ladder audits, sling/rigging audits etc.)
• Coordinate and/or take minutes from meetings-Safety Committee/ Monthly Safety Meeting/ Focus Group Meeting
• Add actions from audits and meetings to action item database
• Set up drug/alcohol testing for new hires
• Manage Short Service Employee list
• Keep up with evacuation lists (i.e., New Hires for all Telge, transfers)
• Build and send out Daily Safety topics
• Assist with management of Prescription Safety Glasses program
• Assist with management of SDS for Telge Facility
• Assist with management of waste pickups
• Collect monthly paint/solvent usage data for Emissions Inventory calculations
• Enter testing results (i.e., Storm water, sand from blasting etc.)
• Oversee onsite contractor work staff
• Other duties as needed or directed by Manager/Supervisor

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years' HSE experience in manufacturing environments or other industries such as exploration & production, gas plant operations, refining, petrochemical, or chemical processing.
• Bachelor's degree in safety or industrial health related field. 7 years of industry experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Experience with emergency response procedures to include ICS and EMS coordination.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record with ability to drive to company and customer locations in the regional area.
• Flexibility with working hours, which may include hours outside of normal scheduled work hours.
• Strong planner/organizer; takes initiative; adapts quickly to change; high level of work standard.
• Excellent judgment; ability to solve problems, develop/implement solutions, strives to understand contributing factors, works to resolve complex situations, and helps individuals to resolve conflicts.
• Acts with integrity, open/honest communication, respecting others, working together with team, strong commitment to HSE and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communications abilities to engage employees and contractors at all levels in assessing and understanding the principles of safe behaviors, conditions and preparedness.
• Positive attitude with the desire to continue learning.
• High level of organization and attention to details.
• Applicants must be able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of employees and management.
• Must be competent in Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to reside in West Texas throughout the year.
• Adapt to frequently changing schedules and tight timelines.
• Have excellent customer relations and conflict management skills.
• Work individually, as well as in a team environment with minimum supervision.
• Ability to use discretion with confidential information and work with enthusiasm and a sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements

Work environment consists mainly of operating plant environment.

The HSE Representative will work 30% of the time in an air-conditioned office and 70% (dependent on facility needs) of the time on the Production Shop floor or yard with no air-conditioning.
