    This role coordinates, implements, and executes tasks to maintain a proactive plant specific program to achieve Plant Safety and Health goals and objectives.

    Essential Functions
    • Ensures the implementation of day to day Safety and Health programs.
    • Acts as the Plant resource for Safety and Health information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
    • Plant contact for Safety and Health issues.
    • Captures and ensures completion of safety items.
    • Evaluates PPE available and make best selections to meet our needs/requirements.
    • Tracks boot and prescription safety glass purchases.
    • Coaches/trains teams and individuals on Safety and Health related tasks, activities and requirements.
    • Owns safety procedures to meet regulatory requirements. Fire suppression outage reporting, CSE trailer PM's
    • Update procedures as needed to address changes in regulations.
    • Conducts safety meetings to cover OSHA and site required training topics.
    • Conducts safety orientation for new hires
    • Assists in developing and achieving area or plant Safety and Health goals.
    • Assists in coordinating the Safety and Health monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant.
    • As required, participates in the Safety and Health related reviews and projects.
    • Performs observations and audits in Safety and Health related areas. Quarterly contractor reviews
    • Inspects machinery, equipment and working conditions in an industrial setting to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
    • Observe workers to determine use of prescribed personal protective equipment including respirators and fall protection.
    • Provide feedback to workforce and offer assistance to ensure safe work behaviors.
    • Audits- permits, LOTO, Vessel Entry, Vehicle and equipment inspections, housekeeping, procedure & policies, etc.
    • Conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions are addressed to prevent reoccurrences.
    • Medical Clinic Site (Back-Up) Contact..
    • Leader within the In-Plant Training requirements for qualifications: Donning/Doffing, Respirator protection
    • Backup to security and emergency response coordinator.
    • Injury case management
    • Assist with employee random drug screenings as necessary.
    • Participate as site emergency response team member.
    • Participate as rescue Team member: CSE entries
    • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills.


    Education Qualifications
    • Required High School or Equivalent
    Experience Qualifications
    • Required 5+ years related industrial experience
    • Preferred Chemical manufacturing; industrial safety experience or equivalent combination of work experience and post-high school education
    Skills and Abilities
    • Day shift position; may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet with shift employees.
    • Good reading/writing, math and communication skills are needed. Computer skills, such as MS Office, are required.
    • Ability to learn site training requirements
    • Organizational skills for correct documentation and filing
    • OSHA PSM regulation knowledge preferred.
    Licenses and Certifications
    • Basic First Aid - National Safety Council (NSC) Preferred
    • Adult CPR - American Red Cross Preferred
    • 7OE Preferred
    • CSE Rescue Preferred
    • Hazmat HAZWOPER Preferred
