2024 S2 | CTE Out of School Time [OST] Program | Career Readiness Experience [CRE] | Work-Based Learning [WBL]Job Summary: As a member of the Student Tech Crew, you will be an integral part of our work-based learning program. Your role will involve:Assisting in the setup, operation, and maintenance of various technical equipment used at Hubbard High School.Collaborating with school-based Tech Coordinators, CTE IT Teachers and other student interns in the program to ensure smooth operation of various technological aspects of the school.Troubleshooting technical issues and providing solutions in a timely manner.Learning and applying new technologies relevant to the program and school.Adhering to safety protocols while handling technical equipment.This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on technical experience, develop problem-solving skills, and contribute to a dynamic learning environment. Ideal candidates are tech-savvy, eager to learn, and committed to supporting their peers in a collaborative setting.This student employee position will be compensated for time worked on an hourly basis. The work schedule for this role will consist of an estimated 2-4 hours per week - 2 hrs/day before and/or after school for 4 days per week for an anticipated period of 4 months beginning 2/5/24 and ending 5/23/24.The Student Tech Crew Intern for Work-Based Learning Program will complete duties such as the following:Reimage desktop and laptops when needed along with running corresponding scripts for these devices.Unbox Chromebooks and place them in charging carts.Update Chrome OS on laptops for standardized testing.Tear down desktops (remove cables and store desktops away) for summer deep cleaning.Setup new desktops (connecting all necessary cables and ensure desktops are correctly configured)Imaging some current windows laptops to Chrome OS.inventory and recycle end-of-life devices (mostly laptops) and chargers during senior laptop collection.Convert obsolete and out of spec desktops in classrooms with current or newer models.Help install or update testing software on desktops. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are preferred:Knowledge:Basic understanding of technical equipment used in the program.Familiarity with safety protocols related to handling technical equipment.Skills:Technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to learn and apply new technologies.Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and program participants.Abilities:Ability to work well in a team.Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and think creatively to solve problems.In order to qualify for this student worker position, candidates must be actively enrolled as a CPS student at Hubbard High School during the 2023-2024 school year, AND must be participating in an Honors CTE IT Course OR be actively involved in a related extra-curricular activity such as the Computer Science Club, Video Game Club or Maker Space Club. A valid work permit will be required for students under the age of 16.
