Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of HR functions while supporting employees and leadership across the organization. This role partners closely with management to ensure compliance, provide employee relations support, and administer HR programs including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, performance management, and HRIS maintenance. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity located in Elgin, IL.

Responsibilities

  • Administer day?to?day human resources operations, including employee relations, onboarding, offboarding, and personnel file maintenance.
  • Support full?cycle recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and new?hire orientation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS systems and ensure timely data updates related to status changes, benefits, and compensation.
  • Administer employee benefit programs and support open enrollment processes, leave management, and benefit inquiries.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment?related questions.
  • Assist with performance management processes, employee development initiatives, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and support required reporting and audits.
  • Participate in employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and exit interviews.
  • Support HR projects, reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 25 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or similar HR role.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience using HRIS systems such as ADP, Paylocity, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Pay $24- $29 an hour, depending on experience
