Position Overview
Gehl's is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to serve as the primary HR leader for our 24/7 manufacturing facility in Lathrop, California. This hands-on role partners with plant leadership and Corporate HR to drive employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, performance management, and employee development.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in California labor and employment law, strong leadership skills, and the ability to balance strategic HR partnership with the day-to-day needs of a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop the site HR Generalist team.
Serve as the facility expert on California labor and employment law, including wage and hour, FEHA, CFRA, PDL, PAGA, and applicable IWC Wage Orders.
Lead complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
Coach leaders on performance management, corrective action, and organizational risk.
Oversee leaves of absence and workplace accommodation processes in partnership with third-party resources.
Partner with legal counsel on investigations, claims, and pre-litigation matters.
Lead recruiting for hourly and salaried plant positions.
Identify compliance risks and strengthen HR policies, procedures, and training.
Analyze HR trends and metrics to support workforce and business decisions.
Maintain accurate HRIS data and required employment records, notices, and postings.
Support HR needs across a 24/7 operation, including nights and weekends as needed.

Requirements
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
3+ years of direct people-management experience leading an HR team.
Demonstrated expertise in California labor and employment law - required and non-negotiable.
Proven success managing complex employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
Manufacturing experience strongly preferred; food and beverage experience is a plus.
