Description

A Human Resource Manager will be responsible for the efficient administration and management of the Human Resources function to include recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration, compliance with statutory requirements and the execution of employee relation activities, in order to provide each department with the personnel, guidance, and support necessary to achieve their customer service and business objectives. Specifically, a Human Resources Manager will perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

Manage the Human Resources Department, ensuring compliance with all hotel policies and procedures, and current local and government regulations pertaining to employee practices

Plan and forecast the short and long-term talent requirements for the hotel to support its business plans

Prepare, control, and ensure effective use is made of the Human Resources Department and related budgets.

Maintain and continually review HR policies, procedures, and practices, updating and/or recommending improvements as appropriate to management. Coordinates elaboration of Job Descriptions, and other areas related to hiring and termination documents

Maintain a best practice recruitment approach, including the Company's vacancy management system, to attract the best applicants

Build a strong career and succession planning system to attract, retain and develop talent

Implement training and development strategies to continuously improve performance and customer service

Assist to maintain and create a positive atmosphere within the hotel that allows for open and effective two-way communication that ensures morale and productivity reach the highest possible levels.

Responsible for managing the recruitment process, selection and hiring in conjunction with the hiring manager.

Responsible for the proper data in-putting and functioning of HR software system.

Review the hotel compensation levels in comparison with service sector competitors and make recommendations as appropriate

Provide a framework for counseling, coaching, and welfare services

Manage Surveys and the calendar of Team Member social events

Manage and resolve, promptly and completely, all employee relations issues in confidential manner

Maintain an awareness of competitor human resources activities and best practices

Monitor present and future trends, practices and systems in the personnel field and makes recommendations as appropriate.

Ensure applicable laws, regulations, company policies are followed in relation to Grievance and Disciplinary procedures. Consult with executives and department managers on appropriate actions and recommend to management final action to be taken.

A Human Resource Manager is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members to successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

Strong organizational and time management skills

Ability to coordinate and cooperate with other departments

Strong ability in using HRIS systems and MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, etc.)

Ability to deal effectively with all team members and employee representatives, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.

Demonstrates the ability to perform effectively in high-stress environments, adapt quickly to unexpected changes, and manage demanding workloads while maintaining composure, focus, and professionalism.

Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to prepare official memorandum and correspondence as well as provide clear and meaningful instructions, guidance and counseling to all team members.

Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures as well as considerable knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters.
