Job Summary

The Human Resources Specialist provides broad support across multiple HR functions, serving as a key partner in delivering positive employee experiences. This is a hands-on role that will facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, support high-volume seasonal theme park/attraction hiring efforts, as well as assist with administrative tasks and daily HR operations. The HR Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, maintaining accurate records, and upholding the highest level of confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & Orientation

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire electronic onboarding processes
  • Track onboarding progress and follow up with new hires on outstanding items
  • Conduct new hire orientations
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure a seamless onboarding experience
Recruitment Support
  • Provide recruiting process support (e.g., scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communications, pre-screen applicants)
  • Assist with high-volume hiring events, including entry-level hiring initiatives for seasonal roles
  • Support job postings, applicant tracking, and candidate pipeline updates
  • Help ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process
HR Operations & Administration
  • Process and maintain I-9 employment eligibility verification in compliance with federal requirements
  • Maintain HR files, records, and documentation in accordance with company record retention guidelines
  • Manage and monitor shared HR inboxes, routing inquiries to the appropriate HR team member.
  • Run and distribute weekly HRIS reports
  • Manage end-to-end administration of J-1 Work & Travel Program, serving as the communication liaison between sponsors/agencies, department managers and the company.
  • Support general HR administrative tasks and special projects as needed
  • Assist with audits and ensure data integrity within HR systems
  • May require periodic support outside standard business hours as needed
Compliance & Confidentiality
  • Process employment verification requests in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Respond to general benefits-related inquiries, providing clear and accurate information to employees.
  • Conduct initial intake of employee relations (ER) concerns by listening to employee inquiries, assessing whether issues should be handled by HR team or redirected to department management, and documenting accordingly.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies as well as federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Handle sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all HR-related matters
Qualifications

Education, Certification(s) and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent combination of related education, internship, or entry-level HR experience
  • 1-2 years of HR experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with HRIS systems and/or applicant tracking systems a plus
  • Previous experience supporting onboarding or recruitment activities in a high-volume environment preferred

Environmental Demands:
  • Office work is performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
