Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the Human Resources Administrator is responsible for the daily coordination, development and administration of the organization's human resources functions. Work involves planning and implementing a variety of administrative management activities. Responsible for providing technical support and guidance to department heads and supervisors in order to best achieve efficient human resources administration. Ensures operational compliance with required federal and state employment and labor guidelines. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of the human resources functions of the organization in order to ensure La Fe's mission, goal and objectives are accomplished in accordance with bilingual, bicultural responsiveness prescribed operational priorities and funding revenue requirements. Frequently exercises initiative and independent judgment.
Responsibilities and Duties
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Ensures legal compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations
Maintains management guidelines and ensures that human resource function is current and updated.
Maintains historical human resource records.
Supervises the Human Resources staff and oversees the Human Resource aspect of the Organization's staff.
Administers Credential and completes files on required staff.
Prepares new hire for assignments by establishing, conducting or overseeing the execution of effective orientation and training programs.
Assist the Chief Financial Officer with the administration of an equitable and efficient pay plan.
Ensures the planning, monitoring and appraisal of employee work results.
Coordinates and maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits.
Administers the Environment of Care program.
Recruitment
Responsible for the administration and coordination of the safety/accident prevention program.
Participates in Administrative meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration; including methods and techniques used in recruitment and selection, classification, salary administration, training and affirmative action.
Knowledge of proper safety programs and policies; training techniques and program development.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and policies as related to human resources administration.
Ability to plan, organize, administrate and coordinate the activities of the program.
Ability to present ideas effectively, orally and in writing.
Ability to deal constructively with conflict and achieving consensus among dissenting groups or individuals.
Ability to select, supervise, train, and evaluate subordinates.
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Word or other compatible word processing or data software.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 2-3 years of administrative, human resources, nonprofit experience preferred.
Required Experience
Three years of professional experience in personnel administration
