Overview:

Join Virginia Housing and help make a difference as a Human Resources Advisor.

 

This important position within the Human Resources Operations team partners closely with all areas of the HR division. The HR Advisor is responsible for full life cycle recruiting, classification and compensation activities, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate requirements, and providing support to designated functional areas.

Serving as a trusted advisor, this role guides managers on performance management, drives organizational change initiatives, and helps resolve complex personnel matters. In addition, the HR Advisor contributes to the development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of HR policies and programs that support a consistent and positive employee experience.

To be successful in this role you must possess:

  • Bachelor's degree with an HR Management focus (preferred) or equivalent, relevant work experience.
  • A few years of experience (3+ preferred) in Human Resources or related field with demonstrated experience in full life cycle recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and HR administration. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply sound judgment in decision making.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Excellent consulting skills with ability to coach and build strong relationships across the organization.  
  • Knowledge of human resources principles and practice.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Human Resources certification preferred.
  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to business partners preferred.

Hiring Range: $62,000 - $83,500

 

Hybrid work model (3 days in office, 2 days remote) following initial training period.

Virginia Housing requires associates to live and work within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
