Goldberg Segalla has an immediate opportunity for a Human Resources and Onboarding Specialist in its Buffalo office.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources & Onboarding Specialist will act as a firm wide primary contact for new hires and have ownership of the employee onboarding process. This role will be responsible for ensuring a seamless new employee experience and will collaborate with various departments throughout the firm.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Conduct onboarding calls with new hires after conditional offer acceptance
- Initiate background check screenings for new hires, notify appropriate parties of results if necessary.
- Notify administrative departments and other appropriate parties of new hires start date and employment related information.
- Partner with various departments and stakeholders to coordinate all logistics related to onboarding new employees.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for new hires, if necessary.
- Create and send communications to all new hires with information about their first day, orientation schedule, equipment, dress code, parking, etc. in advance of their start date.
- Conduct New Hire Orientation and lead new employees through the onboarding process.
- Ongoing collaboration with Training team to ensure that new hires comply with attending all firm required trainings
- Prepare and distribute new hire welcome gifts.
- Conduct satisfaction surveys to ensure successful new hire practices.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the onboarding process.
- Review and maintain onboarding materials, updating as necessary to reflect current company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate HR and engagement projects or activities, track progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely completion.
- Facilitate employee change announcements including but not limited to hire, termination, transfer, and job/title changes.
- Performs other administrative tasks such as filing, sorting and scanning.
- Maintain a regular in-office presence to support team collaboration, attend scheduled meetings, and perform tasks that require on-site access, while effectively managing responsibilities in a hybrid work environment.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE: - 3+ years of human resources or relevant work experience in an office setting
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in English
- Regularly required to observe and assess data and documents, in printed form and on computer screens
- May be requested to work beyond normal work hours and weekends for special projects
- Works well in a team environment and has the ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently within general guidelines and minimal supervision
- Ability to recognize the need for confidentiality of information and to maintain such confidences
- Ability to respond to internal or external inquiries, including those of a sensitive, confidential, or adversarial nature
Benefits:
The rate for this position is $50,000- $62,000, non-exempt. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
