Position Summary
The HR Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department. This position assists with applicant screening, interview coordination, candidate follow-up, HR data entry, ATS and HRIS maintenance, and social media upkeep. The HR Assistant plays an important role in supporting recruiting efforts, maintaining accurate employee records, and helping ensure HR processes run smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with general HR administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, document preparation, and employee record maintenance.
- Review and screen job applications based on position requirements.
- Schedule interviews and communicate interview details with candidates and hiring managers.
- Follow up with candidates throughout the hiring process, including interview updates, next steps, and status notifications.
- Maintain and update applicant tracking system records to ensure candidate information is accurate and current.
- Assist with HRIS upkeep, including entering and updating employee information, job changes, status changes, and other HR-related data.
- Support onboarding processes by assisting with new hire paperwork, system entry, and communication.
- Help maintain job postings across applicable job boards and recruiting platforms.
- Assist with company social media upkeep, including creating, scheduling, and posting recruiting, employee engagement, and company culture content.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee, applicant, and company information at all times.
- Provide general support to HR leadership and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Previous administrative, HR, recruiting, or clerical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar software.
- Experience with an ATS, HRIS, or social media platforms is a plus.
