Duties
Help
Assists in providing recruitment and placement service to NAF activities by procedurally processing a full range of personnel actions such as appointments, position and pay changes, transfers, and separations. Assignments become progressively more difficult until the full performance level is reached. Maintains electronic records, receives and processes requests to fill vacant positions, reviews selections for accuracy, and coordinates with supervisors during the hiring process. Checks for presence of necessary documents, for completion of all necessary items in each document, and for arrangement of necessary documents in proper sequence. Checks items of information for conformance to applicable laws, regulations, etc. Contacts appropriate sources to secure missing data or documents. Provides specific items of information to NAF employees regarding personnel matters including, but not limited to: insurance, retirement, 401(k), unemployment compensation, workers compensation, and awards. Utilizes information found in commonly used regulations, instructions, or manuals. In-process new employees, providing an overview of employee benefits and assisting in the completion of employment documents. May maintain Official Personnel Folders, position control registers, office files, group insurance files, etc. May be responsible for processing security checks to include installation records checks, state criminal history repository checks, and Tier 1 background checks. Operates a computer remote terminal and word processing equipment. Computes service computation dates. Maintains control of within-grade increases to ensure due dates are met. Inputs personnel data into the automated NAF personnel data systems to process a variety of personnel actions. Prepares, in final form, the full range of personnel actions. May requisition forms and post changes to directives. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
NF-02 Human Resources Assistant (OA): Applicant must have experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the pay band level of the position. In addition, experience that requires the applicant to acquire and apply knowledge of the rules, regulations, procedures, and program requirements of one or more areas of a personnel system is required.
NF-03 Human Resources Assistant (OA): Applicant must have progressively responsible experience in clerical or office work that provided a thorough knowledge of administrative principles and practices. Experience must have been sufficiently demanding to demonstrate ability to perform at this pay band level. Must have experience in processing a wide range of personnel actions.

Please join our team in sunny San Antonio, TX. Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) is situated in San Antonio, (Bexar County), the seventh largest city and known as "Military City USA." Encompassing JBSA are Fort Sam Houston, Lackland AFB and Randolph AFB, three separate installations.
The mission of Fort Sam Houston, located northeast of downtown, is medical training and support and is home to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
The primary mission at Lackland AFB, located southwest of the city, is training: basic military, technical, English language and technical training in Spanish to allied countries.
Randolph AFB is located northeast of the city and houses several headquarters including Air Education & Training Command (AETC), Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC), and Air Force Headquarters Recruiting Services.
