Role Description:
\n
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Associate to support the day-to-day administration of our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their HR career who enjoys working with people, maintaining organized processes, ensuring compliance, and helping build a positive employee experience.

The Human Resources Associate will work closely with leadership on recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, HR administration, compliance, and office operations while helping maintain accurate employee records and supporting company policies.

Responsibilities:

- Coordinate job postings across multiple hiring platforms.
- \n
- Screen resumes and schedule interviews with hiring managers.
- \n
- Communicate professionally with candidates throughout the hiring process.

- Coordinate reference checks and background checks.
- \n
- Prepare offer letters and employment documentation.
- \n
- Maintain applicant tracking records.
- \n
- Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation.
- \n
- Prepare new hire paperwork and employment documents.

- Complete and maintain I-9 verification and personnel files.
- \n
- Conduct offboarding meetings and collect company property.
- \n
- Ensure timely deactivation of employee accounts and system access.
- \n
- Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records.
- \n
- Process employment status changes, promotions, and compensation updates.
- \n
- Assist with employee timekeeping.
- \n
- Track attendance, PTO, sick leave, and other leave requests.
- \n
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- \n
- Assist with HR reporting and documentation.
- \n
- Serve as a point of contact for routine employee questions.

- Help communicate company policies and procedures.

- Assist with employee recognition and engagement initiatives.

- Support performance review administration.

- Document employee coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.

- Ensure compliance with federal, California, and local employment laws.

- Assist in maintaining employee handbook updates.

- Support workers' compensation, unemployment claims, and required employment notices.

- Help prepare documentation for audits and internal reviews.

- Maintain legally compliant HR documentation and record retention.

- Coordinate employee training and development programs.
- \n
- Track completion of required training.
- \n
- Assist managers with onboarding plans and training schedules.

- Help organize internal meetings and company events.

- Assist with general office administration.
- \n
- Maintain office supplies, snacks and HR materials.

- Coordinate employee badges, equipment, and workspace assignments.

- Support internal communications and company announcements.

Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- \n
- 1–3 years of Human Resources or administrative experience.
- \n
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- \n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- \n
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- \n
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- \n
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- \n
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- \n
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS/payroll systems.

- Experience with recruiting and onboarding.
- \n
- Knowledge of California employment law.
- \n
- SHRM-CP, SHRM Certified Professional, or PHR certification (or working toward certification).
