    Description

    Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our Corporate Human Resources team. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and leaders across the organization, supporting a broad range of Human Resources functions including employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, leave administration, compliance, HRIS administration, employee engagement, training, and performance management.

    We are looking for a collaborative HR professional who exercises sound judgment, provides exceptional customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to influence employee experience while supporting key business objectives across the company.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Serve as a trusted HR resource to employees and leaders, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
    • Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, and offboarding.
    • Coordinate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
    • Administer salaried employee leave programs, including FMLA and other protected leaves.
    • Maintain accurate HRIS and personnel records while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Prepare employment verifications, state new hire reporting, tax credit screenings, and other employment documentation.
    • Support performance management processes, employee engagement initiatives, and leadership development efforts.
    • Partner with leaders on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and talent development.
    • Assist with benefits administration and provide backup support during open enrollment and other benefits activities.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
    • Prepare HR reports, support audits, analyze workforce data, and participate in special projects.
    • Assist with internal communications and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
    • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
    • Three to five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience as a  Business Partner, Generalist or similar role preferred.
    • Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines including employee relations, recruiting, leave administration, performance management, compliance, and HRIS administration.
    • Working knowledge of employment laws including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
    • Experience with HRIS systems; UKG experience is preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
