POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) reports to the Director, Human Resources. The HRBP serves as a trusted advisor to support a high-performing, engaged workforce. This role provides strategic and operational HR guidance across employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, payroll, and organizational development while ensuring an exceptional employee experience.

  • Serve as an HR partner by aligning people strategies with PennEnergy business objectives, priorities, and Core Values.
  • Guide managers on employee relations, performance management, team development, and other employee-related areas.
  • Collaborate on the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, coaching, development planning, documentation, and training to strengthen individual and organizational performance.
  • Manage payroll, ensuring timely, accurate payroll processing, data integrity, employment records, and process improvement through vendor relationships and internal controls.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including Open Enrollment, leave administration, vendor relationships, employee education, and compliance with applicable laws and plan requirements, leveraging vendor relationships to continuously improve employee benefits program.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws by implementing, and maintaining HR policies, procedures, practices, recordkeeping standards, and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with hiring managers on talent acquisition and onboarding processes, including workforce planning, recruitment, and onboarding to support successful outcomes.
  • Manage documentation and processing for employee lifecycle activities including promotions, compensation actions, leave administration, and separation processes.
  • Maintain HR systems, processes, and internal controls that improve operational efficiency, strengthen data accuracy, safeguard confidential information, and support business growth.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, support decision-making, and recommend strategies that improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Provide reports and support payroll/employee-related financial processes, including benefit reconciliations, garnishments, retirement contributions, employment verifications, audits, and other financial/budget/reporting requests.
  • Participate in initiatives and projects that strengthen the employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices, including employee relations, payroll, benefits, leave administration, talent acquisition, and performance management.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategies and programs with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, influence leaders, and provide guidance on complex people matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, Microsoft Office Suite, and other HR technology platforms.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Perform light work, generally in an office environment, exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity. Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.

REGULAR SCHEDULE
This is a full-time salaried position with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday work hours.  A hybrid work schedule is available after an initial training period. Extended hours may be needed on occasion to complete Company objectives.  Travel up to 10% may be required to travel to work sites beyond the corporate office.  This position may be required to be on call or accessible for call outs beyond standard working hours.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS                      Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
                                                                          Masters' degree in similar fields or coursework towards an 
                                                                          advanced degree preferred
CERTIFICATIONS                                             PHR or SPHR certification and/or SHRM’s CP/SCP certification or 
                                                                          progressively pursuing preferred
YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS       Minimum of five (5) years experience as an HR professional
                                                                                         A combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
