This position is responsible for providing professional-level consultation and guidance to managers, supervisors, employees, and campus partners on a wide range of human resources matters throughout the employee lifecycle. Under general direction, Human Resources Consultant 2 independently administers onboarding and offboarding processes, maintains the accuracy and integrity of employee and position data within ctcLink.

The role supports operational continuity by ensuring compliance with HR policies, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to workforce planning. It requires sound professional judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to resolve multifaceted issues while balancing institutional priorities.

Green River Colleges student body is made up of approximately 41% Academic Transfer students, 34% Professional-Technical students, 15% Adult Basic Education student, and 3% Applied Bachelor degrees. Green River College has four campuses, including the main campus in Auburn, Washington, with satellite campuses in Kent, downtown Auburn, and Enumclaw. Green River programs serve high school graduates, Running Start students (dual enrollment in local high schools and the college), those seeking retraining for the workforce, international students, students learning English, and Continuing Education students. Position Responsibilities

Onboarding and Offboarding

  • Meet with all new employees, including classified, exempt, full-time faculty, temporary part-time faculty, temporary hourly and student hourly, to collect required onboarding documents. Run all new employees through E-Verify and Business Services Online to confirm eligibility of work in the United States.
  • Create position numbers, job codes, and department codes within ctcLink.
  • Keep executive leadership informed of current legal requirements and regulatory changes related to new employee onboarding.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Form I-9 compliance and new hire immigration regulations, ensuring adherence to evolving federal requirements.
  • Collect and record transcript information.
  • Process personnel actions including employee name changes, supervisor changes, title changes, and department changes.
  • Perform ctcLink data entry, updates, audits, and validation to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintain the Human Resources preferred name list.
  • Set up jobs in job data for faculty workload.
  • Work with employees who are separating from the college to collect required paperwork and provide notice to campus partners when employees separate.
  • Maintain and monitor the 18-month separation tracking list for adjunct faculty.

Job Descriptions and Performance Assessments

  • Work with supervisors to collect signed job descriptions for new employees and coordinate updates as needed.
  • Collect performance assessments from supervisors and send reminders when needed.
  • Track the collection of performance assessments and job descriptions.
  • Collaborate with Recruitment, Compensation, and Labor Relations to review job descriptions prior to recruitment, reorganizations, reallocations, promotions, and other personnel actions.

Human Resources Operations

  • Monitor and track 350-hour and 1,050-hour employee work limits.
  • Maintain accurate employee and position records within ctcLink.

Other

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two years of human resources consultant/generalist OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization, building good working relationships.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure data integrity while entering, auditing, and maintaining confidential employee and position records.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects, process management and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated competency in coordinating and organizing, planning, accountability, adaptability/flexibility, enforcing the rules, problem solving, detail-oriented, accuracy, confidentiality, and initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to accurately manage complex personnel records and multiple competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and handle numerous interruptions by phone and in-person customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA in Human Resources or related field.
