POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department by providing comprehensive human resources services to employees, supervisors, and departments across the College. This position serves as a key resource for employee relations, recruitment and hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, compensation and classification support, performance management, and policy interpretation.
The Human Resources Coordinator partners with managers and employees to promote a positive workplace culture, support workforce effectiveness, ensure compliance with employment laws and institutional policies, and deliver high-quality HR services that contribute to employee engagement and organizational success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations & Supervisor Support
- Serve as a primary HR contact for assigned departments regarding employee relations matters, workplace concerns, and HR-related inquiries.
- Advise supervisors regarding policy interpretation, performance management, employee conduct, attendance issues, and workplace concerns.
- Coach supervisors regarding employee performance, documentation, corrective action, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
- Meet with employees to facilitate problem resolution, answer questions, and provide guidance regarding HR programs and resources.
- Promote equitable, inclusive, and respectful workplace practices consistent with the College's mission and values.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate recruitment and hiring activities, including position postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and hiring documentation.
- Assist hiring managers and search committees throughout the recruitment process to ensure compliance with established hiring procedures.
- Facilitate onboarding activities for new employees, including orientation, required documentation, and introduction to College policies and programs.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives designed to enhance the employee experience.
Benefits, Leave & Employee Support
- Advise employees and supervisors regarding benefits programs, enrollment, eligibility, and life event changes.
- Assist in administering leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, short-term disability, long-term disability, and other leave programs.
- Coordinate return-to-work processes and workplace accommodations in collaboration with employees, supervisors, and healthcare providers.
- Administer Workers' Compensation claims and coordinate work restrictions and return-to-work activities.
- Ensure unemployment compensation claims are addressed accurately and in a timely manner.
Performance Management & Organizational Effectiveness
- Support performance management processes, including supervisor coaching, documentation guidance, performance improvement plans, and employee development initiatives.
- Assist with professional development, training coordination, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Collaborate with departments to identify workforce challenges and recommend solutions that support employee success and operational effectiveness
Compensation, Classification & HR Operations
- Review personnel actions, classification changes, compensation requests, and employment transactions for accuracy and compliance.
- Support benefit changes, personnel records management, and other HR operational processes.
- Review forms, personnel documents, and HR transactions to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
HR Analytics, Compliance & Institutional Support
- Maintain knowledge of College policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Conduct research, analysis, and fact-finding activities related to HR issues and workforce trends.
- Track and analyze workforce metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare reports and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Participate in HR projects, process improvement initiatives, policy development, and department-wide programs.
- Support implementation and communication of HR policies, programs, and institutional initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of Human Resources and institutional operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3+ years of experience
- High attention to details
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
SHRM or PHR Certifications
