Human Resources Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative support to the human resources functions, including recruiting, team member/labor relations, compensation, benefits, training, equal employment opportunity, and/or team member records. May conduct pre-employment screening interviews, check references and respond to routine questions on HR policy. Project-based and creative work is involved.

Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 3pm, 30+ hours/week - onsite position

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Serves as first point of contact for the Human Resources Department

  • Facilitates New Hire Orientation processes to include:

  • Organize, communicate, and conduct new hire orientation on a monthly or as needed basis

  • Coordinate presenters, both internally and externally

  • Present HR portion of orientation, train and educate new hires on team member benefits, company policies, and health & safety

  • Assist with maintaining internal and external recruiting sites to attract talent. Assist with recruiting of job applicants, screening, and interviewing fill open positions.

  • Assist with maintaining the company HRIS database and team member personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

  • Run and export team member data related reports from HRIS system; manipulating data as appropriate within Microsoft Excel.

  • Provide payroll related documentation support, entering detailed payroll related data in HRIS system; serving also as a back-up in payroll database, verifying, and providing input.

  • Communicate with departments, team members, applicants, administrators, and staff to provide information and assistance regarding recruitment, transfer, employment personnel records, and legislation.

  • Coordinate health, dental, life, and disability insurance enrollments and communicate with service providers concerning routine administration of benefit programs.

  • Provide support/assistance with Family Medical Leave, COBRA, and disability benefits.

  • Administers the team member exit process to include exit interviews, benefit and HRIS paperwork and processes termination checklist.

  • Maintain confidentiality of team member information at all times including personnel actions, legal actions, terminations, and organizational plans.

  • Partner with team members and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.

  • Serve as a Culture Ambassador by actively promoting and supporting the organization's values, employee engagement initiatives, and positive workplace culture through participation on the Culture Committee and related activities.

  • Provides overall assistance and research support on benefit policies, programs, and procedures.

  • Maintain a current level of job-related skills by attending training sessions, seminars, conferences, and reading HR-related publications.

  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field preferred.

Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 1 year prior work experience in Business or Human Resources
  • Prior experience with employment law, regulations and other government compliance regulations is preferred
  • Prior experience with running and pulling reports, and working with data in MS Excel is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change in a fast paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Experience in handling sensitive, confidential information
  • Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office - especially with Word, Excel, and Outlook
