Human Resources Coordinator

The Crystal Lake Park District is looking for an enthusiastic, organized, detailed, and customer-focused Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in recruiting great talent, welcoming new employees, supporting payroll, and helping create an outstanding employee experience from day one.

No two days are the same—and that's exactly what makes this position so rewarding!

As our Human Resources Coordinator, you'll help keep our Human Resources department running smoothly by:

  • Recruiting and onboarding new employees.
  • Posting job openings and maintaining our applicant tracking system.
  • Coordinating background checks and pre-employment processes.
  • Preparing offer letters and new hire paperwork.
  • Maintaining confidential employee records.
  • Assisting with bi-weekly payroll processing.
  • Supporting employee benefits and communications.
  • Processing verification of employment requests.
  • Assisting with employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives.
  • Supporting volunteer coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Two years of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources, recruiting, payroll, or office administration.
  • Experience with HRIS, Applicant Tracking Systems, or payroll software is a plus.
  • Municipal or public sector experience is helpful but not required.
  • Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.) is a bonus.
