The City of Eugene's Employee Resource Center (ERC) is hiring one regular Human Resources Coordinator and one Acting in Capacity or Limited Duration Human Resources Coordinator. The regular position is an ongoing budgeted role, and the other position is anticipated to last approximately twelve months as either a fully benefited Limited Duration role for external candidates or as an Acting in Capacity role for current City of Eugene employees.

The next Human Resources Coordinator will work collaboratively with a variety of departments and divisions across the City of Eugene to strengthen best practices in recruitment, develop and maintain internal/external partnerships, and enhance customer experiences, while following compliance with a fair hiring and selection process.

Salary Range: $31.31 - $39.03 Hourly
The City of Eugene determines starting pay within the range based on relevant education and experience as provided by the applicant in their application materials. This process is consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act (OEPA).

Supplemental Information
Bilingual Pay Benefit
This benefit compensates non-represented employees up to 5% of their base salary. To qualify for bilingual pay, the employee must demonstrate fluency in an eligible language and pass a language proficiency test that is administrated by the City's Employee Resource Center division.
Non-Represented Retirement Program
Upon eligibility, the City will contribute an employee contribution of 6%, as well as the employer contribution, to a retirement program administered by the Oregon Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). In addition, the City will pay a 3% contribution to a deferred compensation program if the employee contributes at least 1%.
From January 1, 2020, through December 31, 2034, most retirees may work for a PERS-participating employer for an unlimited number of hours while continuing to receive their pension benefit based on HB 2296. What to Expect from our Selection Process
Applicants are screened based upon their relevant knowledge, abilities, skills, experience, and training. The selection process varies according to the position and can include such things as screening of supplemental questionnaires, written or skill tests, ability or fitness tests, interviews, and assessment processes. In addition, background investigations and records checks may be required. Some positions also require applicants to have a psychological evaluation and/or physical examination and a drug test prior to employment. Marijuana use is evaluated consistent with current state law regulations. PLEASE NOTE: Once the posting closes, the process can take 4-6 weeks to complete.

Salary and Benefits
The normal starting salary is the first step shown on the posting. Other placement in the salary range may be considered depending on qualifications and experience. Periodic advancement through the salary range is dependent upon merit. Please indicate whether you meet the minimum requirements for the HR Coordinator position. The minimum requirement for this position includes 4 years of experience or a combination of experience and education totaling 4 years. Experience: Four years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative support experience, providing excellent customer service. Experience working in an environment with access to confidential/ sensitive information preferred. ? The four years of experience must include two years of Human Resources experience or complementary experience in a field or program area focused on interpreting rules, regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to specific situations, and/or maintaining complex records and related databases Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Associate or college coursework directly related to human resources, business administration, psychology, public administration, or a related field is preferred.
