Provide confidential Human Resources support for the Human Resources Manager. Responsibilities include assisting with Benefits Administration, Employee Verifications, I-9 approval and record-keeping, FMLA Administration, Company Newsletter, and New Hire and Orientation preparation. Maintain various spreadsheets, including veterans, disability, promotions, hires, terminations, and EEO Tracker. Will assist in recruiting, calling candidates, and scheduling interviews. Strong computer and research skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
Accountability:
This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager and w orks collaboratively with all staff assigned to the District. Must maintain confidentiality under all circumstances.
Position Requirements:
1. Assists in the management of employee benefits, including FMLA, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance and retirement programs.
- Compile and organize all required employee hiring forms, including maintaining accurate and current files.
- Send the offer letter and pre-employment instructions to the driver candidates to be hired. Prepare and compile copies of all company policies, work rules, handbooks, labor agreements (if applicable), benefits forms, and necessary employment forms for newly hired employees.
- Responsible for daily mail pick-up and distribution. Mail must be distributed and/or processed in a timely fashion. Mailing materials (stamps, UPS, etc.) will be organized and ordered on an as-needed basis.
- Assist with federal and state Human Resources audits and reports. Respond to surveys as required.
- Process employee verifications utilizing time-sensitive and confidential methods
- Assist with unemployment compensation matters as required.
- Maintain various spreadsheets such as Veterans, Disability, promotions, hires, terminations, EEO Tracker, etc.
- Maintain and upkeep all HR filing systems.
- Maintain I-9 and FMLA recordkeeping.
- Must maintain a respectful working relationship with all GNHTD employees and treat all employees, vendors, and customers professionally.
- Photocopy, fax, or e-mail information, reports and other information as needed.
- Must be able to communicate courteously and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Assure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations and all applicable GNHTD policies and procedures.
15. Create a monthly company newsletter, soliciting content input from staff members.
- Other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.
Requirements:
· To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
· A minimum of three years of human resources experience is preferred.
· Possess effective interpersonal skills.
· Have strong planning and organizational skills.
· Be able to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
· Personal computer skills; possess knowledge of human resources and accounting processes required.
· Any equivalent combination of experience and training provides demonstrated potential for performing the duties of this position.
· Must have effective written and oral communication skills.
