The Human Resources team is seeking an assistant to support the daily operations of the district human resources function. Attention to detail, engaging personality, tenacity and comfort with process improvement & HR technologies are keys to success in this role. Interest & experience in payroll and benefits is a plus! This is a year-round position, eligible for benefits, including a generous PTO package.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this role supports the tactical work that is inclusive of payroll & benefits, employee engagement, leave management, recruiting/hiring/staffing, and compliance. Dotted line to the Payroll & Benefits Specialist.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated experience with Google Suite and Excel

  • At least 2 years in a human resources position

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with all stakeholders

  • Preferred but not required:

  • Experience with Skyward systems

  • Experience working in an educational environment

Essential Physical / Mental Requirements:

Must be able to...

  • remain in stationary position for prolonged periods, up to six (6) hours per day

  • perform light physical work, occasionally transporting up to 10 pounds.

  • requires manual dexterity for computer operation

  • communicate effectively on the telephone and in person to provide accurate information and assistance

  • provide a high degree of speed and word processing accuracy

  • complete job duties in an environment where background noise and frequent interruptions are the norm.

  • maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and detail.
