Position Summary
The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading all human resources functions, ensuring alignment between business objectives, workforce strategies, and regulatory requirements. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, compliance, training and development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness. The HR Director partners closely with plant leadership and corporate stakeholders to build a high-performing workforce while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities and Oversight:
- Develop and execute HR strategies that support business objectives, operational goals, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Partner with executive and plant leadership teams to drive employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and organizational development.
- Lead full-cycle talent acquisition efforts for salaried, hourly, skilled trades, and leadership positions.
- Oversee employee relations activities, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Manage compensation, benefits, and salary administration programs to ensure competitiveness and internal equity.
- Monitor and analyze HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, retention, time-to-fill, labor costs, and employee engagement.
- Lead performance management processes and support managers in coaching and employee development initiatives.
- Oversee HRIS systems, personnel records, and reporting to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, workplace safety standards, OSHA requirements, and industry best practices.
- Support change management initiatives.
- Manage employee benefits administration, leave management, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims.
- Develop and maintain positive employee relations through effective communication, recognition, and engagement programs.
- Lead and mentor HR team members while fostering a collaborative and service-oriented HR function.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to fluently communicate in both Spanish and English.
- Thorough knowledge of employment law, employee relations, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Experience managing hourly and salaried employee populations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of workforce planning, labor relations, compensation, benefits, and organizational development.
- Demonstrated success partnering with operations leaders to drive employee performance and business results.
- Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and workforce analytics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
