About the Role: 

Maryknoll is seeking a full-time Human Resources Director to join its team based in Ossining, New York. The HR Director will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, providing vision, leadership, and oversight for all HR functions across the organization. This role drives talent strategy, employee engagement, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices. The HR Director also leads key initiatives in workforce planning, employee relations, and total rewards to support a high-performing and mission-aligned workforce.

This role requires work to be performed onsite in the office four days per week, Monday through Thursday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for all Human Resources functions, aligning people strategies with organizational goals and mission.
  • Lead talent management initiatives, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Oversee employee relations, including handling complex workplace issues, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Lead and oversee the evaluation of compensation, benefits, and total rewards programs to ensure competitiveness and compliance with alignment to the HR Budget.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices while mitigating organizational risk.
  • Coach and advise leadership on HR policies, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that supports employee engagement and development.
  • Lead and manage the HR Team by providing direction, coaching, and performance oversight to ensure effective execution of HR initiatives and daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten years of progressive Human Resources experience required, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Non-profit experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in all aspects of HR, including Compliance & Employment Law, Employee Relations, Training & Development, Compensation & Benefits, Recruitment & Staffing and HRIS/ERP systems and reporting.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Strong business acumen and experience partnering with executive leadership.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The salary range for this 35 hour workweek full-time position is $162,000-$187, 216. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
