The Human Resources Director oversees all HR functions across a diverse portfolio including a casino, resort, gas stations, lottery retail operations, and food and beverage. This role is responsible for developing and executing HR strategies that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, workforce stability, and high-quality employee experience across multiple business lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Leadership
Multi-Unit Talent Acquisition
Employee & Labor Relations
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure compliance with:
Nevada labor laws and gaming regulations
California labor laws for applicable employees, including:
Wage and hour laws (overtime, meal and rest breaks)
California Labor Code and Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) Wage Orders
Paid sick leave and leave of absence laws (CFRA, FMLA overlap)
California Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA)
Cal/OSHA safety standards
Oversee compliance for multi-state payroll practices
Ensure proper classification of employees (exempt/non-exempt, CA-specific rules)
Maintain gaming licenses and audit readiness

Ensure completion of assigned training programs focused on:
Customer service excellence (casino/resort/retail)

Retail/gas station staffing
Address scheduling, turnover, and staffing challenges typical in hospitality and retail environments

Qualifications:
Education
Experience
10+ years of HR experience, preferably in:
Casino/gaming
Hospitality/resort operations
Retail or multi-unit operations
5+ years in a senior HR leadership role
Experience managing a large, diverse workforce (hourly + salaried employees)
Experience managing multi-state HR compliance (Nevada & California strongly preferred)
Certifications (Preferred)
