Human Resources Director
$95,000–$120,000 annually
LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a Human Resources Director, for a mission-driven organization, in Richmond, VA.
Serve as a senior HR advisor and operational leader. This role supports leaders across multiple locations and provides guidance on employee relations, compliance, HR operations, and organizational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to organizational leaders on employee relations, performance management, workplace conflict, disciplinary actions, and separations.
- Manage complex employee relations matters from intake through resolution while ensuring proper documentation, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Conduct and oversee investigations related to workplace concerns, including discrimination, harassment, misconduct, and ethics reports.
- Provide operational oversight across HR functions including payroll, benefits, HRIS, recruiting, onboarding, training, compliance, and policy administration.
- Partner with leadership on HR initiatives, process improvements, audits, policy updates, and organizational projects.
- Mentor HR team members and support continued growth and consistency across the HR department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field required.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible HR leadership experience required, with strong employee relations expertise.
- HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, compliance, investigations, documentation, and HR operations.
- Experience with HRIS systems required; UKG experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office expected.
- Excellent communication, judgment, discretion, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with confidentiality, professionalism, and sensitivity in a mission-focused environment.
Additional Details: Candidates should be comfortable with occasional evening, weekend, day, and overnight travel. Background screening is required.
Compensation: $95,000–$120,000 annually, with potential flexibility based on experience.
