This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day employee and operational support with process improvement and thrives in a fast-paced, operational, field-driven environment.The HR Generalist will report directly to the Director of Human Resources and work directly with managers and employees to support key HR functions including employee relations, onboarding, compliance, performance management, and workforce administration. This position plays an important role in maintaining a positive company culture, supporting our teams in both the field and office environments, and ensuring consistent HR practices across the organization. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an office-based environment while serving as a trusted resource for supervisors and employees across the organization.Experience supporting construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, or other field-based workforces is strongly preferred.Key Responsibilities:Assist in all phases of employee life-cycle including but not limited to various screening and testing, onboarding, unemployment, discipline, termination, etc.Aid in the administration of employee benefits and retirement programs including enrollments, changes and employee inquiriesMaintain and update personnel and medical files in both electronic and paper formats while maintaining strict confidentialityConsistently track and administer FMLA and other leave programs in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulationsProvide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including leaves of absence, compensation, policies, and employee relations concernsAssist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of human resources policies, procedures, and practicesSupport payroll processes by ensuring accurate employee data, timekeeping coordination, and issue resolutionEnsure compliance with applicable employment laws, company policies, and regulatory requirementsParticipate in auditing data and develop action plans for addressing identified issues as needed and requiredStay up to date with HR trends and best practicesAdditional responsibilities as required by managementQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Management, or related field preferred and minimum 3+ years of relevant experience7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degreeProficient knowledge and application of HR laws and regulations including but not limited to FMLA, OSHA, Workers' Compensation, etc.Experience with multi-state/multi-location organizationsDetail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environmentExcellent problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential informationProficient knowledge and application of Microsoft 365 and other relevant software programsMay require limited business travelPreferred:Experience within construction, manufacturing or relevant fieldsKnowledge of ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Program)Standard office hours, but flexibility may be needed to support our field based teams.Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)401(k) retirement plan with company-paid matchHealth, dental and vision insuranceGenerous paid time off and holidaysFlexible spending accountsCompany-paid life and AD&DD insuranceEqual Opportunity Employer:Midwest Drywall Co Inc is an equal opportunity employer, we welcome and encourage diversity in our workforce.
