Introduction
The HR Generalist will support day-to-day human resources operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for employee support, HR systems administration, onboarding, investigations, and compliance activities, while serving as a key point of contact for employee inquiries. This position works closely with HR leadership and labor relations to ensure efficient HR service delivery and a positive employee experience across a multi-shift workforce.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- Minimum 1.5 years of HR experience
- Experience with HR systems (Workday preferred)
- Proficiency in Client Office Suite
- Knowledge of basic employment law and HR practices
- Prior work experience at client or in client's industry
- Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing or union/bargaining unit environment
- Exposure to timekeeping/payroll systems (Workforce Software a plus)
- Experience supporting employee relations and investigations
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact during HR office hours to address employee inquiries (pay, transfers, policies, etc.)
- Respond to general employee inquiries and Employee Central requests
- Support engagement initiatives and employee action plans
- Manage HR communications (e.g., employee notifications and outreach)
- Maintain and process transactions in Workday and other HR systems
- Support Workforce Software (timekeeping, pay corrections, and employee inquiries)
- Coordinate onboarding activities for hourly and salaried employees
- Process employment changes (transfers, job code changes, terminations, resignations)
- Support investigations and documentation
- Assist with unemployment hearings and compliance-related activities
