Human Resources Generalist

Job Purpose:

Beacon Communications is a leader in critical communication systems installation and services the healthcare, education, and commercial markets with headquarters in Littleton Colorado. The HR Generalist collaborates with the team to support the HR function of our multistate specialty telecommunications/construction business. Among other responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and hiring staff, onboarding/offboarding, benefits administration, leaves of absence, personnel records and files, compliance, employee relations, HRIS maintenance & reporting and other general HR functions or initiatives. The salary range for this role is between $65,000.00 - $70,000.00, commensurate on relevant education, experience, and other job related factors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in recruitment, selection, pre-employment, and the onboarding process.
• Ensuring that the company's procedures comply with federal & state employment regulations and laws.
• Support managers with coaching on any employee relations matters including performance discussions, disciplinary action, or PIPs.
• Assist in answering employee questions, acts as a trusted advisor.
• Promotes a positive work environment & culture.
• Benefits administration including open enrollment, benefit billing reconciliations, employee questions.
• Monitor promotions, transfers and terminations, data entry of new hires, or changes in the HRIS system (Vista).
• Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, work with outside counsel as needed.
• Document and standardize key HR processes and ensure appropriate follow-through and accountability.
• Report on HR related data, maintain accurate records.
• Participate in HR team meetings and assist in monitoring and responding to the HR ticketing system.
• Coordinate employee trainings as needed.
• Assist in managing leaves of absences as per federal & state laws.
• Other special projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Great attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills.
• Responsive, able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• Experience supporting hourly employees including unions preferred.
• Strong process-improvement mindset with the ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement changes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Vista Viewpoint experience a plus
• Self-directed and comfortable collaborating with the HR team members & leadership.
• Sound judgement and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience in benefits administration and employee relations.
• Payroll experience including certified payroll & reporting a plus.

Education, License and Experience:

• Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3-5 years directly related experience in human resources.
• SHRM-CP preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Consistent, reliable, and timely attendance
