Summary/Objective 

Administers and supports core human resource functions, including leave management, attendance tracking, employee relations, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring consistent application of policies within a unionized and safety-sensitive environment.

Essential Functions

  • Administers sick pay and attendance tracking for union employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and organizational policies.
  • Receives, validates, and scans submitted attendance documentation
  • Serves as employee contact for sick pay discrepancies and attendance inquiries.
  • Conducts employee relations investigations, provides recommendations to leadership, and supports the organization in disciplinary meetings by preparing/reviewing documentation related to disciplinary actions, grievances and compliance matters.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures equitable and consistent application of policies.
  • Establish and maintain confidential employee files.
  • Maintain necessary turnover statistics.
  • Communicate, administer and maintain records for FMLA, Medical Leave, ADA, and Short-Term Disability programs.
  • Provide interpretations to management personnel in compliance with corporate discipline policies and procedures.
  • Crosstrain and be responsive to all Human Resources inquiries from Team Members and Agencies.
  • Interface with various agencies such as Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, EEOC, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal state, and local government regulations as they relate to the Human Resource functions.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere in the company, which will foster an “open door” policy to improve employee communications and satisfaction.
  • Generate reports and conduct audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Executes other duties as directed by the Human Resource Director/Manager.
