As the Human Resources Generalist, you'll play a key role in providing day-to-day HR support and employee relations assistance for assigned employees, leaders, campuses, or business areas. You'll serve as a trusted HR contact for questions related to policies, procedures, employee records, onboarding, HR systems, compliance tracking, ADA/accommodation processes, corrective action, performance documentation, and routine workplace concerns. With strong documentation skills, sound judgment, and a service-focused approach, you'll partner with leaders and HR stakeholders to support consistent HR processes, identify recurring trends or process gaps, and escalate higher-risk or complex matters appropriately.

‖ Responsibilities Include:

  • Serving as an HR contact for assigned employees, leaders, campuses, or business areas.

  • Responding to employee and manager questions regarding HR policies, procedures, employee records, onboarding, HR systems, and general HR processes.

  • Handling routine employee relations concerns, including attendance issues, policy clarification, documentation follow-up, workplace concerns, and first-level manager or employee support.

  • Supporting managers with corrective action and performance documentation using established HR templates, processes, and guidance.

  • Assisting with performance management follow-up, including documentation tracking, meeting preparation, and next-step coordination.

  • Supporting ADA and accommodation processes by gathering information, tracking documentation, coordinating follow-up, and escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.

  • Conducting initial fact gathering for routine employee concerns and escalating matters requiring investigation, higher-level review, or legal guidance.

  • Processing onboarding documentation, new hire information, HRIS updates, employee records, and compliance tracking.

  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee files, documentation, and HR records.

  • Assisting with compliance-related tracking, reporting, acknowledgments, required training, and employment documentation.

  • Supporting HR communications, policy rollouts, employee experience activities, and training coordination.

  • Partnering with HR Specialist, Senior HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Compliance, and Operations teams to resolve routine HR needs.

  • Identifying recurring questions, documentation gaps, process issues, and employee relations trends to share with HR leadership.

  • Escalating higher-risk, multi-issue, legally sensitive, complex ADA, leader-level, or high-impact matters in accordance with established escalation standards.

  • Performing other assigned duties to support HR department and organizational objectives.

‖ Qualification Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test.

  • Bachelors degree or higher in human resources, business administration or a closely related field of study preferred.

  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a SHRM-CP, PHR or other related HR certification preferred.

  • Minimum 2-4 yr.s prior experience working in human resources function, with a strong background in employee relations and field partnerships.

  • Prior experience and/or highly knowledgeable in HRIS, onboarding, employee records, compliance tracking, policy guidance, corrective action documentation and/or performance documentation preferred.

  • Prior experience in education, healthcare, behavioral health, multi-site operations and/or a compliance-driven environment preferred.

  • Prior experience and/or highly proficient in reading, writing, analyzing and interpreting detailed reports and business correspondence.

  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.

  • Proven ability to handle complex employee relations issues confidentially and objectively.

  • History of success building credibility, effectively managing multiple projects and collaborating across all organizational levels.

  • Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.

  • Experience working with HRIS, case management systems, reporting tools and/or other HR related technology preferred.
