Essential Functions
Onboarding/Offboarding 40%
Serves as lead for MCC's Onboarding and Offboarding programs; maintains MCC's New Employee Orientation training course and conducts regular employee and supervisor onboarding sessions; tracks probationary employees during onboarding processes and communicates with employee and supervisor regarding tasks and evaluations; coordinates performance management annual evaluation cycle; addresses employee separation and transfer transactions and communications; conducts employee exit interviews; assists supervisors in developing workplace and job expectations; processes new hire intake and assists/backups front reception desk, including issuing employee badges
Projects/Reporting 30%
Coordinates special projects including researching, creating, testing, recommending and implementing approved programs to ensure best practices and success in all college human resources functions; reviews and revises HR college guidelines and processes; processes position management requests related to staffing needs, reporting changes, budgetary needs, and position clean-up; serves on district and college committees; develops, customizes, and maintains spreadsheets and reports; responds to requests for Verifications of Employment; maintains College Organizational Chart; utilizes Procurement Card for departmental purchases; addresses Peak Week change requests
Supervision/Training/Development 20%
Supervises and evaluates HR Department receptionist; facilitates college training and development programs, including in-person and virtual lectures on various HR related topics and District HR initiatives; assists in the design, maintenance, and implementation of a college wide employee development program; supports district-wide HR events at the college such as the annual Benefits Expo; assists with college employee events; coordinates and provides training for front desk support duties
File Management 10%
Processes a variety of confidential human resource and payroll documents for new and current employees with a high degree of accuracy, including but not limited to I-9, E-Verify, name change, and tax forms; tracks work authorization expirations; designs, develops, and maintains HR website (requires Drupal training); responsible for HR personnel file management, including routine auditing in accordance with the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records (LAPR) Retention Schedule as well as Higher Learning Accreditation (HLC) file tracking; maintains HR owned email distribution lists; responds to inter-college file requests; other duties as assigned
