This employee is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level.  This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas:  benefits administration; payroll administration; employee relations, training, performance management, on boarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance. 

 

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Prior experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience working with employee payroll and benefits and/or in Customer Service a plus.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

 

Competent in the following areas:

 

  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Has generalist knowledge of commonly used concepts practices and procedures within the Human Resources field.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with candidates, employees at all levels in the organization and partners.
  • Confidentiality a must.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs payroll administration including poll electronic time clocks and review downloaded information for completeness and accuracy.  Process weekly and semi-monthly transfer of payroll data.  Compile internal management reports from payroll system software.
  • Performs benefits administration to include employee guidance to claims resolution; change reporting through benefits portal; Annual Open Enrollment administration; W/C claims reporting and management.
  • Performs 401k administration to include employee guidance to enrollment and changes; change reporting through the 401k portal; coordination of data between 401k portal and payroll system; annual 401k TPA.
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO/AAP regulations.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures, prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Recruitment (Creating accurate job descriptions, writing and posting ads, sourcing and qualifying candidates, interviewing candidates, tracking candidate data and making offers to selected candidates).
  • Administration of FMLA.
  • Involvement as needed in employee performance/development and employee team-building programs.
  • Handles employee relations.
  • Plan and schedule employee events.
  • Maintains company organization charts and employee directory.
  • Maintains human resources information system records and compiles reports from the database; Creating, running and analyzing reports related to headcount, compensation, benefits enrollment, workforce demographics, etc.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
