Job Summary

Job Type: Full Time

Under supervision of the CHRO, the Generalist is responsible for employee relations, benefits administration, and other duties as assigned. Assists the department in the day-to-day operations of performing a variety of confidential administrative duties. Advises and assists management and employees on employee issues and concerns through communication, interpreting, and recommending appropriate use of human resources policies and procedures, services and programs offered by the facility. Maintains excellent organizational and communication skills in dealing with all customers where assertive but tactful demeanor is required.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides Front Desk and Customer Service Support

a. Answers telephone, routes callers, takes messages, provides information to callers

b. Greets visitors, employees and applicants in a positive, friendly manner.

c. Responds to employee, applicant inquiries or refers to appropriate person

d. Notifies Employee Health Nurse of visitors

e. Assists applicants with on-line applications and answers inquiries in person and by telephone

f. Prepares ID Badges and maintains badge supply orders

g. Sorts, distributes, and mails pay checks, gifts, benefit information, etc.

  1. Provides Administrative Support for the Human Resources Office

a. Prepares and administers pre-employment packets with newly hired employees.

b. Coordinates inter-departmental deliveries, and all mailings

c. Responsible for scanning employee file documents to CONNECT

d. Maintains HR lobby flyers, handouts, and supplies

e. Prepares and mails employee Birthday Cards

f. Orders office supplies for the Human Resources and Employee Health departments

  1. Provides Support

a. Completes new hire data entry and related department data entry

b File preparation/audit of new hire files, employee file scanning using CONNECT

c. Assists with New Hire Orientation, employee events and activities

d. Assembles reports utilizing HR Information Systems, Microsoft Office, etc.

e. Completes projects as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and 1-2 years of HR experience, or college course work with 3-5 years of Human Resource experience required.
  • Excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills.
