Position Summary 
The Human Resources Generalist provides experienced, day‑to‑day HR support within a Center of Excellence (COE)–based HR operating model. This role delivers high‑quality employee relations, performance management, and HR operational support by applying established HR programs, policies, and frameworks. The HR Generalist operates with moderate autonomy, resolving routine matters independently while partnering closely with HR Shared Services and HR Centers of Excellence (including Employee Relations, Talent, Total Rewards, and Compliance) for complex, sensitive, or high‑risk issues. 
 
Work Location: Remote (Hybrid—3 days in office—if located within 40 miles of a FlexTG office)
Compensation for this role ranges from $80,000 to $101,000 and is determined by experience and location.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  
Employee Relations & Performance Support 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and manager inquiries related to employee relations, performance management, and policy interpretation. 
  • Conduct initial assessment and intake of employee relations matters, resolving routine issues independently and escalating complex or high‑risk cases to the HR team as appropriate. 
  • Coach managers on performance management fundamentals, fair and consistent application of policies, documentation, and corrective action using established tools and guidelines. 
  • Support investigations and corrective action processes in partnership with the HR leaders applying sound factual documentation to balance a respectful employee experience and organizational risk. 
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound discretion when handling sensitive information. 
HR Support & COE Partnership 
  • Act as an operational liaison between the business, HR Shared Services, and HR Centers of Excellence to support effective service delivery. 
  • Apply COE‑designed programs, policies, and frameworks consistently across the organization. 
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, and process gaps, providing feedback to COEs to support continuous improvement. 
HR Operations & Service Delivery 
  • Deliver timely, accurate HR support within a shared services or HR service delivery environment, managing inquiries through established intake, case management, and escalation processes. 
  • Ensure accurate execution of HR processes and maintain data integrity across HR systems. 
  • Reinforce standardized HR processes, controls, and service expectations. 
Talent & Employee Lifecycle Support 
  • Support employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, internal moves, employee changes, and offboarding. 
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, Payroll, and Benefits teams to ensure smooth execution of HR processes and consistent employee experience. 
  • Support engagement and retention initiatives developed by COEs. 
Compliance, Risk Awareness & Continuous Improvement 
  • Ensure HR practices are executed in compliance with employment laws, internal policies, and governance standards; identify and escalate potential compliance or risk concerns. 
  • Support audits, reporting, and documentation requirements related to employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. 
  • Participate in HR projects, COE rollouts, and process improvement initiatives, supporting change efforts by reinforcing new processes, tools, and standard ways of working. 
  • Apply and reinforce compliant HR practices across multiple locations, states, and employee populations, ensuring consistent interpretation of policies while accounting for varying employment laws and regulatory requirements. 
Qualifications and Experience  
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist or similar role. 
  • Experience supporting employees and leaders in a large, complex organization. 
  • Experience operating within an HR Shared Services or COE‑based HR model. 
  • Working knowledge of employee relations, performance management, and employment law. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across teams. 
  • High degree of judgment, professionalism, accuracy, and attention to detail. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM‑CP) 
  • Experience using HR case management systems and HRIS platforms. 
  • Experience supporting structured HR service delivery environments.
