    Paths is a full-scale, vertically integrated affordable housing developer, builder, and operator. Since 2004, the Paths team has created and preserved high-quality, affordable housing across the U.S. that enhances communities and helps residents build better lives. With over 16,000 units across 13 states under management and more than 500 employees, Paths manages a suite of capabilities spanning the entire property life cycle, including development, construction, property management, maintenance, and security.

    Summary/Objective: The Human Resources Generalist will be a valued member of the HR team, reporting to the Talent Manager and Executive Vice President of Human Resources. This role combines broad HR generalist responsibilities with a significant focus on talent acquisition, managing the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing and outreach through hiring and onboarding exceptional candidates for our growing organization.

    Classification: Exempt
    Hybrid Schedule: Three (3) Days in the office and Two (2) days' work from home
    Location: New York, NY 10022

    Essential function/Responsibilities: duties include but are not limited to the following

    • Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors by providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related inquiries.
    • Manage full-cycle recruitment for assigned portfolio groups, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer administration through Paycor.
    • Administer and maintain the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), ensuring accurate candidate records, requisitions, and hiring workflows.
    • Develop, maintain, and analyze recruitment reports and hiring metrics, providing data-driven insights to support workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies.
    • Track recruiting activity, job board performance, candidate pipelines, and time-to-fill metrics for the HR team.
    • Assist in coordinating internship programs, educational partnerships, community outreach initiatives, and recruiting events to strengthen talent pipelines and recruitment efforts.
    • Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs, including scheduling, agenda management, and ensuring a positive employee experience.
    • Support onboarding processes by ensuring all required pre-employment and new hire documentation is completed and maintained.
    • Process employment verifications, reference checks, and unemployment claims in a timely manner.
    • Manage relationships with staffing agencies, including contract administration, candidate placements, and assignment tracking.
    • Assist with HR projects, audits, reporting initiatives, and other departmental responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
    • Experience with Paycor, Paychex, or other Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) preferred.
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of Human Resources experience required, with a strong emphasis on full-cycle recruiting and talent acquisition.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlookt.
    • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Working knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements preferred.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with candidates, employees, managers, and external partners.
    • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of ethical practice.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and multiple recruiting requisitions simultaneously.
    • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation.


    Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
