Human Resources Generalist
Job Location: Stockton, California
Job Type: Temporary
Pay Rate: $24-$25/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-4:30pm
Description of Position:
Do you have experience as a HR Generalist? Our client is looking for a temporary HR Generalist to cover a leave of absence for the next few months. This assignment has the potential to be extended for the right candidate. The schedule will be approximately 3-4 days per week in the office. We're looking for an organized, detail oriented professional with strong administrative skills and experience using Microsoft Office. Experience with HR software or the trucking/logistics industry is a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Distribute and collect new hire paperwork and educate employees on company policies and procedures
- Conduct employment verifications
- Create and maintain personnel, medical, termination, and DOT qualification files
- Maintain employee records and update information in databases and spreadsheets
- Assist employees with time clock entries and updates in the Paycom system
- Track and update the DOT random drug screening pool
- File payroll, personnel, and compliance documents
- Assist with quarterly employee events and annual company functions

Experience Required:
- Previous HR Generalist or Human Resources experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of federal and state labor laws
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong grammar, organization, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Experience with HRIS systems, Paycom, or the trucking/logistics industry is a plus
