    JOB SUMMARY

    The Human Resources Generalist at Martin Marietta is a versatile HR professional responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions across the employee lifecycle. This role acts as a key partner to employees, supervisors, and operational leaders, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, talent processes, and compliance initiatives within a decentralized, field-based environment.

    The HR Generalist plays a critical role in ensuring the effective execution of HR programs and processes that support Martin Marietta's business objectives across plants, quarries, and corporate locations. This includes supporting employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compliance, and workforce initiatives. The role requires a strong balance of hands-on execution and advisory capability, with the ability to navigate both hourly and salaried workforce dynamics.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
    • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance concerns.
    • Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend appropriate actions in alignment with company policies.
    • Partner with leadership to promote a positive, productive, and compliant work environment.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices to provide accurate guidance.
    • Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and performance improvement plans (PIPs).
    • Coach managers on performance management best practices and employee development strategies.
    • Assist in identifying training and development needs and coordinate learning opportunities.
    • Promote employee engagement and career development initiatives.
    • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely updates in HRIS systems.
    • Process HR transactions, including hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
    • Generate and analyze HR reports to support decision-making.
    • Ensure data integrity and support audits and reporting requirements.
    • Support initiatives that promote a strong safety culture in alignment with Martin Marietta's operational priorities.
    • Partner with leadership to reinforce company values and maintain a positive workplace culture.
    • Coordinate and track employee training programs, including compliance and safety training.
    • Support leadership development initiatives and onboarding training efforts.
    • Ensure training records are maintained and compliant with company and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance operational efficiency.
    • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, including system implementations and policy updates.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR service delivery and employee experience.
    • Provide HR support across multiple locations, including plants, regional offices, and corporate teams.
    • Build strong working relationships with operational leaders in field-based environments.
    • Travel to sites as needed to provide on-the-ground HR support.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

    PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus

    Work Experience

    2+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a Heavy Industrial or Construction.

    Working Conditions

    Some duties require outside assignments and require periods of work in all weather conditions, cold, wet, dry and dusty. Must be able to work in areas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
